Specialized Treatment

Spinal Mobilization/Alignment
A procedure which utilizes firm direct pressure and/or
a quick, short thrust to move vertebra or joints back into place.

May also be used to treat:
-
Sacroiliac (SI joint) Mobilization
-
Rib Mobilization
Muscle Energy
A therapeutic technique which utilizes the muscles surrounding vertebra or joints, (tensing or relaxing; lengthening or shortening), to reposition the
vertebra or joint.

Dry Needling
Dry Needling involves inserting a very thin needle without any medication, (dry needle), into a “trigger point” (muscle knot). The mechanical pressure of the needle disrupts the tight bands in the muscle, thereby eliminating the knot, pain and spasm.
ART (Active Release Technique)
Injuries which cause restrictions often result in dysfunctional patterns of movement which can cause pain, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, and decreased range of motion. Active Release Technique (ART) is an effective movement-based therapy used to treat soft tissue* injury or dysfunction, and to restore normal movement patterns and range of motion. (* Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.)

Manual Therapy
A “hands-on” technique used to treat both acute and chronic conditions resulting from muscle injury and/or joint restriction. The treatment of affected soft tissue* helps to lengthen and relax the muscles which decreases pain and increases freedom of movement. In addition, Manual Therapy increases blood flow to the affected area (s) which speeds the healing process. (* Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.)
Whole Body Vibration Therapy (“Power Plate”)
The Whole- Body Vibration machine or “Power Plate” was designed to force passive muscles in the body to react to the vibrating plates of the machine. This treatment can be performed while standing or sitting, and benefits those who are too weak to exercise and those with balance issues. The effects of the “Power Plate” can be enhanced by performing light weight shifts or small movements to augment the benefit to the muscles.
